I am curious about the qualifications for the F-2-7 visa

Hi,
I am curious about the qualifications for the F-2-7 visa. When calculating the points, I have, I think, 88 points. However, I have only been in Korea for over a year (will be 2 years in February). I wanted to know, if my visa changes from E-2 to D-2 (planning on starting a Masters degree.) will the number of consecutive residency years start over?
Also, with the points, if my university was in the top 500 list, does it count towards excellent university? And does teaching experience (i.e. professional experience) still count towards the points? I also have study abroad experience from 2017-2018 and some interning experience from that time.

Please refer to my comment as below.  

 

If my visa changes from E-2 to D-2 (planning on starting a Masters degree.) will the number of consecutive residency years start over? 

-> The number of residency years will be accumulated from E-2 visa continuously. 

    There is a shortcut to get the F2-7 visa fastly.   

    If you have master’s degree in Korea or annual income is more than 40 million won, 

    you can apply for F2-7 Visa anytime regardless of 3 years regulation.  

 

Also, with the points, if my university was in the top 500 list, does it count towards excellent university? 

-> Yes. it will be regarded as excellent university and you will get 15 points for bachelor degree. 

And does teaching experience (i.e. professional experience) still count towards the points?

-> Unfortunately career experience is not counted as points.  

   You can get points from other items such as income, education, major, TOPIK or KIIP only.  

   However, professional experience would be helpful when you try to change D-2 to F2-7 Visa directly. 

   In this case, you must meet the qualification and eligiblily for E-7 Visa as well. 

   Regaring E-7 Visa, the job experience need to match with job field of company which you will apply.
