What types of visa will be I eligible for if I get master’s degree in software development ?
Question
To whom it may concern,
I currently work as an English teacher in Korea. I plan to work as a software developer in the future so I will start my master’s program(online) at the beginning of next year. Once I graduated from my master’s program in software development, I was wondering if it is possible to work as a developer in Korea. What types of visa will be I eligible for?
Thank you for your time,
M*****
Answer
Dear M*****,
Thank you for your inquiry.
This is David Lee who is PIC of E-7 and F2-7 Visa.
If you get master’s degree or diploma in the field of software development in Korean university,
you may apply for E-7 Visa or F2-7 Visa.
However, you should be hired by Korean company as software engineer which is a basic requirement.
Many korean companies are looking for IT engineer even if you are a foreigner due to shortage of manpower.
Option 1) Master’s degree holder in Korea can apply for E-7 working visa without related job experience.
Option 2) Master’s degree holder in Korea can apply for F2-7 point based residence visa directly with more than 80 points.
Please contact me anytime if you need any further inquiry.
