Whether it’s pointing me in the right direction for getting on the recommendation list or offering another suggestion on how to get my F 2-7 visa
Question
Dear VisasKorea Team,
I’m writing today because I applied for an F 2-7 visa, believing I had enough points. Given that I have been in Korea for over 3 years, my age (33), annual income (37mil), bachelor of Arts degree, and being a citizen of the U.S. However, I was denied because I wasn’t on a recommendation list. When I asked what the list was and how to get on the list, the immigration officers said they weren’t sure.
I was hoping someone with your company could help me. Whether it’s pointing me in the right direction for getting on the list or offering another suggestion on how to get my F 2-7 visa, any help you could offer would be much appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Sincerely,
Answer
Thank you for your inquiry.
This is David Lee who is person in charge of F2-7 Visa.
Regarding ministry’s recommendation, if you are Korean war participation countries’s outstanding talents, you may get the letter of recommendation.
As far as I know, Ministry used to select some qualified person every year and put up the list on website.
However, it is very hard to be selected from government. I have never seen a person who got the recommedation letter among my client so far.
Meantime, I tried looking up your university on the QS World University Rankings and found your university is included in top 500 universities.
So it seems that you are eligible to apply for F2-7 Visa without the point of Korean war.
I hope we guide you in the right direction.
Best Regards
David Lee
